We require a junior to intermediate SQL Server Database Administrator / Database Warehouse Analyst to join our Calgary team. The Database Administrator / Warehouse Analyst is responsible for the overall design, management and maintenance of information databases used to operate the infrastructure and technology platform. The Administrator will partner with technical and business groups to ensure that database performance is not hindered and performance standards adhere to service level agreements set with the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration • Partner with development teams to design data management and governance protocols, manage the information lifecycle, design infrastructure and data integration controls • Design, configure, implement, and administer all databases for the respective parties involved • Develop and maintain complex models and logical database designs • Identify and resolve all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption • Build and manage the database disaster recovery and backup plan • Develop new and enhance existing standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs • Analyze and report the performance of database operations against the key database performance metrics • Meet performance standards in accordance to service level agreements set by the company • Develop query reports on demand • Develop, review and optimize query statements for developers • Develop and run query scripts upon data change requests Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence • Understands business strategy and cascades business intelligence needs to the database level • Design, develop and maintain an optimized data warehousing architecture as well as develop Analysis Services OLAP projects (SSAS) • Develop SSIS packages to import , transfer, and extract data from production to BI server • Monitor and maintain BI server with scheduled restore and OLAP jobs Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) • Maintain user security and access levels in MS Dynamics GP 2010 • Analyze application issues, data issues from the back-end tables, and integration issues with MS Dynamics GP • Gather MS Dynamics GP feature requirements from the end users • Schedule and perform user acceptance test with MS Dynamics GP users • Coordinate with third party vendor for advanced MS Dynamics GP technical support Skills Soft Skills • Strong logical and analytical thinker • Attention to detail • Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions • Can anticipate risks and mitigate in the moment • Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus • Strong verbal and written communication skills Applying is a two-stage process: 1) Please complete a 20-minute online personal performance survey, by clicking the following link: http://www.profileperformancesystem.com/survey.html?SL=35654 2) And then send your resume to: Jason.Steward@SiSystems.com We thank everyone for their interest in S.i.
