Role : VOD Workflow Integration and Test Engineer Location : Atlanta, GA Duration : Long Term Contract. Description Requires BS/BA in related discipline (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, MIS) and 4+ years of experience in related field OR MS/MA and 2+ years of experience in related field. • Requires 4+ years’ experience in Video engineering or operations • Requires 2+ years’ experience in either working directly for a service or content provider or in a direct operational support role to a service or content provider customers. • Requires experience with Windows and command-line Unix/Linux environments. • Experience with MySQL or other enterprise database is preferred. • Familiarity with IP networking concepts is required. • Strong analytical trouble-shooting skills are required. • Strong oral and graphical communication skills, including ability to write concise and precise English are required; ability to use a whiteboard to analyze problems, communicate integrations and designs is required; ability to reduce technical designs to diagrams, table, etc. is required. • Ability to produce detailed sequence diagrams to show how transactions will occur. • Requires previous experience with writing test plans and test cases. • Experience with on demand system is preferred but not required. • Familiar with issues pertaining to streaming video over large networks is required. • Experience with VOD asset distribution and headend systems is preferred; experience with the SeaChange back office is preferred. • Broader video engineering experience such as MPEG2 encoding and transport, multiplexing, encryption and ad insertion is required. • Experience with adaptive bit rate formats is preferred but not required. • Must be extremely self-motivated, be able to work with minimal day-to-day guidance and have the ability to own problems through to resolution. • Must understand how to sequence tasks as a function of dependencies and durations (i.e. must be able to plan ahead).
