Leading Product Innovation Company is seeking a C++/Java Consultant to help build a global product that is powered by one of the world’s largest and most accurate databases available to the market! The database houses over 6 million instruments and has the ability to calculate custom returns that give their clients a real competitive advantage in a global market place. The team builds high-performance, ultra-reliable systems that feed billions of data points per day to their customers. The work atmosphere is fast paced, spirited and friendly and you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of different technologies - C++, Java, C, Perl, Oracle. This is a long-term contract opportunity (12 months +) located in New York City. **US Citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply as our client is unable to sponsor H1-B candidates at this time** Requirements: • Minimum 3+ years C++ and/or Java development experience in a UNIX environment with a willingness to work in both is essential • Experience with the full software development life cycle • Excellent Computer Science and programming fundamentals with the ability to design and develop very large-scale, distributed systems • Strong background with relational databases • Problem solver with a curiosity to learn and understand systems beyond those responsible for • Experience with multi-threaded programming Other desirable skills: • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl/Python • Experience with complex query writing and optimization"
