This Information Systems Manager position combines both technical and managerial skills: the Information Systems Manager oversees the IT infrastructure, LAN and Server computing, and the application support for the local applications, network infrastructure and systems, and where appropriate, this includes the support for the local video conferencing infrastructure. You are expected to ensure that all local IS operation & actions are delivered within the time and quality parameters requires to support Covidien SSC operations optimally, and in compliance with audit and SOX requirements, The Information Systems Manager is expected to either be located already in Prague, or to be considering and willing to relocate to the capital city of the Czech Republic. Principal Accountabilities of the Information Systems Manager • Act as the primary support contact for business applications utilised in-country & be an effective interface with EMEA Information Services • Manage local PC Clients (desk-top), Server computing, LAN, Phone & Video infrastructure • Promote & influence System Process Owners, IS Development, Key Contacts & Computer Services • Complete all administration associated with effective day to day management of the local IS facility to achieve a responsive computing service, and maintain the relationship with the local vendors • Manage and mentor the junior team members Skills & Qualifications of the IS Manager • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems/Applications and networking and can perform hardware diagnostics • University degree in a related field – preferred • 6 years+ experience with proven user support track record • Fluency in English and Czech or Slovak Preferred Requirements: • Similar previous experience in a multinational company • Enthusiastic, persistent, and persuasive, adaptable with the ability to change direction and priorities when required • Ability to work at all levels and across departments within the organisation • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Other Requirements: • Good problem solving skills • Good team player • Professional, credible individual with an ability to influence peers, superiors and subordinates To submit your application, please contact me at: raluca.groues@covidien.com."
