A typical database administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. An entry level database administrator typically has an Associates degree with previous experience in programming. As the levels progress, the years experience increase along with leadership expectations, with the introduction of a supervisory role at Level 3. The technical skills, including the ability to write and test programs, increase across levels, starting from basic at Level 1 to expert at Level 3. Bijkomende job details * Technical knowledge: • Good knowledge OS: Solaris & Linux (general usage + scripting) • Experience with ORACLE in a virtual environment (VMWARE / OVM) • Deep knowledge of administration and installation of Oracle DBMS 10.2 en 11.2 • Deep knowledge of SQL en PL / SQL • Deep knowledge of RMAN (backup, restore, PITR, catalog, recovery in different scenario’s) • Deep knowledge of DB tuning and query tuning • Experience with DB upgrades & patching (new releases, opatch, PSU/CPU patching, one-off patches) • Experience with migrations and consolidations (ie. platform migrations) • Experience with DR (Oracle Data Guard, storage replication, …) • knowledge OEM versie 10 en versie 12c • Knowledge of client-connectivity : JDBC / SQL*Net • Support of business as well as dev teams, troubleshooting skills * Must have's/ Mandatory's: • in depth knowledge of oracle v 10 & 11 R2 • in depth knowledge of grid control (OEM10 or 11), with knowledge of v 12c • knowledge of RAC, ASM, dataguard - Technical OEM : • Setup,maintain and patch OEM components (OMS, OMR and OMA) • Setup and maintain targets (OMS, ASM, Cluster DB, Listener,...) in OEM • Setup and maintain target monitoring (metrics, templates, rules, notification methods) *Assets: • Experience with RAC (day-to-day operational + install/config/maintenance) • Knowledge of/experience with ASM (day-to-day operational + install/config/maintenance) • BOXI and Data Services BODI * Soft skills : - Analytical & problem-solving capabilities - Autonomous - Good Communication - Teamplayer * Languages: - Fluent in French and/or Dutch, with at least excellent passive level of the other language is a MUST! - English is an asset.
