Job Description: Job Title: Database Architect Duration: 6+ Months Location: Warren, NJ Pay Rate/salary: DOE Start date: ASAP Any critical information: Data modeling OLAP, SQL Writing and Tuning, Netezza, Financial knowledge required Data Modeling: Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling. Data models transformations and modeling patterns. OLTP and OLAP data modeling experience. Metadata modeling experience. Standard Data Modeling techniques and patterns in Banking subject area. SQL statements parsing and interpretation. SQL statements transformation and optimization. Transaction processing. Transaction isolation levels. Concurrency control: optimistic and pessimistic locking. VLDB management. Partitioning strategies. Parallel processing. Distributed DBs and distributed processing. Federated DBs and federated processing. DW Appliances: principles of operation. Strong knowledge of Oracle DB platform: modeling, programming, operation, configuration, administration Strong knowledge of at least one major BI platform: SAP/BO, c, Oracle BI, MicroStrategy, Microsoft BI, SAS. Strong knowledge of at least one major ETL platform: AbInitio, Informatica or DataStage. Knowledge of principles of operation of at least one of the following data servers: Teradata, Exadata, Netezza. At least for one of the positions we will need someone with Business Intelligence platforms (see above) and BASIC (to understand and logically explain) Financial knowledge: Financial Products: Securities (Corporate, Municipal, Treasury, AB, etc). Basic definitions and attributes of Currencies, Equities, Commodities, Derivatives, Fixed Income Securities, Fixed Income Derivatives. Financial Markets: Exchanges, Broker/Dealers, Orders, Trades, Margin, Settlement, Custodians, Accounting, Stock Records, General Ledger and Sub Ledgers, Regulators, Regulatory Reporting, Compliance.
