Role : Microwave radio path engineering Location : Birmingham, AL Duration : 6 to 12 months contract. Job Description : Evaluate the effects of propagation on performance. Development of a frequency allocation plan. Proper selection of radio and link components. This design process must ensure that outage requirements are met on a per link and system basis. The frequency allocation plan is based on four elements: The local frequency regulatory authority requirements Selected radio transmitter and receiver characteristics Antenna characteristics Potential intrasystem and intersystem RF interference. Engineering Deliverables: Microwave link design, to include a Bill of Materials (BOM), Link Analysis and microwave configuration submitted to Southern Company for review. Work with frequency coordination service providers for interference analysis, final frequency selection and PCN (Prior Coordination Notice) analysis Preparation of FCC License application Additional information: We have already selected the microwave radio manufacturer and models. Microwave links will need to be determined on a system level to integrate with our existing and future tower locations. Existing tower attachment information will be available.
