Needs exist for SALT Tax Managers and Seniors to join the tax department of both Big 4 and large regional firms in the NYC and NJ areas. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: • Tax return compliance, consulting & planning for Income & Franchise Tax, Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax and other SALT related areas • Preparation of technical memos as they relate to the SALT area • Audit defense • Handling multi-state reviews, sales & use, franchise and other related tax returns to identify the best practices for the client • Dealing with taxing authorities to resolve any issues related to SALT • Maintaining strong client relationships • Maintaining knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect your client • Knowledge of recent tax developments and their affect on your clients • Developing solid client relationships The right candidate should have: • BS in Accounting • MS or JD in Accounting or Tax is a plus • CPA a must • Minimum of 3-10 years experience working in the tax department of a CPA firm • Expertise in SALT issues • A strong knowledge of SALT law and regulations, including compliance, research, multi-state planning, tax controversies, audit defense and income tax accounting • Sales & Use tax experience preferred • Proficiency in US GAAP • Experience with FAS 109 is highly preferred • Tax research, compliance and planning on a multi-state level • Strong client relationship skills Salary Commensurate with Experience Bonus Eligible Excellent Benefit Package If you are interested in this position and want to learn more about this exciting opportunity please respond in strict confidence to: Paula V.
