Candidate will be providing Tier III break/fix and project support for firewalls.This is a 24x7 support position - there is off shift activities and pager rotation to cover. Preferred Skills:FortigateVPNIPv6TCP/IP networking Hours of assignment are :00 PM ET - 11 PM (M-F). Job Description: This position interfaces with external clients and is highly visible. This position is in support for production backend management network through the use of secure tunnels, virtual private networks and layer networking. The position involves complex problem engagements, interfacing with customers, vendors and developers, to aid in identifying trends and isolating problems during times of critical need. The following skills and experience are preferred for this position: • Advanced experience in troubleshooting layer- firewalls and routing. • Technical leadership during high visibility outages and maintenance activity. • Knowledge of security best practices and process Technical Support for critical situations – responsibilities can include: • Performing minor project / engineering reviews. • Technically managing major / complex outages. • Technically lead discussion with peers and clients. • Performing chronic problem analysis and corrective planning. • Communication with Senior Management. This position requires a broad skill set across networking and security. The ideal candidate is required to have at least one of the following: • Certification in Checkpoint, Cisco or Juniper firewall platforms • CCSE (Checkpoint Certified System Engineer) • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) • Background as a technology consultant • Experience as a solutions architect or integrator with problem determination experience. This position is in support of domestic Government Restricted clients and will require the candidate to obtain appropriate security clearances. Required Education: 5-8 years experience in Network Information Technology, Computer Science Degree or equivalent technical certification or experience. Hours of assignment are :00 PM ET - 11 PM (M-F). Job does not require face-to-face contact with the AT& Customer on the Customer Premise.
