"X.25 Solution Integration Specialist - USA A number of X.25 Solution Integration Specialists is urgently needed for one of our Clients, a major international Telecommunications company, based in USA. We are looking for engineers with strong technical expertise and extensive experience providing implementation, operational and network support to a X.25 project. The purpose of a position is to be responsible for integration and customer acceptance of a specific scope of work. This position will focus on supporting remediation (migrating) to contain all non-IP traffic of the client’s Alarm network to the central office and move all non-IP alarm transport traffic to the VMN IP network. This is a long time contracting role to start ASAP. Main activities: • Upgrade or deploy protocol mediation device at CO and connect to VMN IP network • Extend VMN to 400+ sites without IP presence • Establish connections over VMN to network elements and alarm infrastructure via protocol mediation device at each CO • Ensure all network elements and alarm infrastructure is connected to protocol mediation devices • Once all elements for given network are migrated, decommission those network nodes and associated circuits • There are four major non-IP networks that support alarming and network element management within VMN: DataKit X.25, Sprint X.25, Nortel Intelligent Network, and Westronic. These networks connect to Operational Support Systems (OSS) for management of network elements and alarm collection. Job responsibilities: • Installation of remediated X.25 and Alarm IP network. • Interface with equipment vendor to coordinate shipment of equipment to site and detailed engineering designs. • Migration of Network Elements and OSS Applications to remediated X.25 and Alarm IP network with Network Operations and Engineering (Site, VMN and OSS) • Confirm end to end connectivity from network elements to OSS applications. • Coordinate remediation installation work schedule with Network Operations (Site, VMN and OSS) and COEI. • Schedule MASTARS windows with NOC as required. • Replacement of as built design with implemented proposed design in Venue, Remedy and later-identified databases. • Confirmation of network acceptance by Client’s Network Operations and Network Engineering, NSCC, IT Datacenters and NOC of network change. • Provide weekly updates on progress.
