The workstations provided are not only traditional FATs anymore, but are mainly on a centralized server based Citrix platform. This platform mainly uses application streaming (APP-V) and exceptionally application installations (.MSI). We are now looking to extend this platform with some VDI workstations. Task Set The key tasks of the VDI specialist on the Workplace environments are : •We are seeking an engineer or design architect to build a proof of concept for some of our financial clients.(Banking & Insurance industry) •The VDI Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, implementing, administering and troubleshooting virtualization and cloud solutions in all types of production environments. •In addition to the following technical responsibilities, the VDI Engineer is charged with selfmanaging their assigned projects, communicating the status of the project to the customers IT staff and management, vendors, and internal customers. •The VDI Engineer will also need to interact with and support the sales team, as well as interact with the other practice areas. •Write technical documents related to virtual desktop stations. You will provide guidance on how to implement the VDI specifications, including suggestions on how service delivery can be achieved in a manner that minimizes the need for exceptions. •Work with team members to deploy XenApp and XenDesktop based solutions to customers. •Peer-Review proposed project plans and scopes of work. •Provide technical support to end users. •Assist with project planning and architecture design. •Take this opportunity to make a real difference in this high visibility, high impact project and make a real difference in your career at the same time. Your profile: Required skills The VDI specialist we’re looking for should have the following skill set: 5 years minimum hands on experience with the following technologies: •Citrix XenDesktop - Recent experience preferably with a recent version, with an understanding of the impact design decisions and concepts will have on the back end systems. •Large-Environment VDI experience - must understand performance impact, I/O concepts •Understanding or experience with non-pooled, assigned desktops (as well as pooled) in a large environment Citrix Provisioning Server environment or knowledge of machine creating services. •Citrix XenApp 4.5 – 6.5 •Citrix XenDesktop 5.5 – 7.1 •Citrix Provisioning Services •Citrix MCS •Microsoft Active Directory 2000 – 2008R2 •Microsoft Windows server 2000 – 2008R2, XP, Vista, 7, 8 •Microsoft RDP and RDS technologies The following skills are desired, but not a requirement: •VMware VI 3.5, vSphere 4.x, vSphere 5.x •Citrix XenServer 5.x-6.x •Citrix Netscaler •Citrix Access Gateway •Appsense suite •Excellent oral and written communications skills, and interaction with end users, vendors, and technical staff is required. •Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player as well as work well with others •Knowledge of project management methodologies and change management processes is required •Must be a self starter and capable of being responsible for time and task management Meer info? jobs@nxt-it.biz ref nr 2048" | |||||
