Alexander Reid posted a job: IT onsite support position Dubai "My client is looking for an IT Onsite Support Engineer based In Dubai Please send resumes and a covering letter to alex.reid@aogroup.co.uk Standard OSS tasks: • Handling of Requests made by users to service desk that service desk is not able to handle • Incident made by users to service desk that service desk is not able to handle • Support by phone / E-mail / SMS and On Site • Desktop support, upgrade and error handling • Laptop support, upgrade and error handling • Setup and test of new hardware • Hardware recycling/dispose • Hardware advice what to buy and where to buy in MyNokiaPurchase • Assist in the use of MyNokiaPurchase • Moving of Hardware physical and logistics • Making new Request for users • Nokia mobile support (Phone/configuration) drivers to install / PC-suite, etc... • Services when repair of hardware, move to and from to HW-point • Backup/restore/recovery help .snapshot, network unplugged mobility • Microsoft product (Support) • BBCA tuner software support • Support for Video equipment in meeting rooms, etc… Example tasks and skills of the engineer (This is not limited to these functions and not exhaustive) The supplied engineer though they may not be a specialist in this area will be IT literate and a seasoned experience engineer of years within IT and with a grasp of DC, Networking and Storage concepts and able to absorb and follow technical instructions and carry out these technical tasks under instruction. The supplied engineer must understand and be proficient at OS installation and configurations and be able to transfer these skills to a server installation under remote instruction and direction. Technical knowledge/capability is provided from the responsible resolver utilising the engineer Good understanding of hardware maintenance and repairs, remote connectivity and Raid theory knowledge. Solid Desktop Networking skills with understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, IP addressing, DHCP, WINS to a point of configuring a machine to connect to the network and basic troubleshooting. Understand the basic concepts of switches, Firewalls, Routers and awareness of configuration files. Experienced with Backup and restore duties and able to understand the basic principles of this area of IT and the relation of interconnecting hardware and technologies. Hardware moves, swaps and install will be part of this role. Racking devices and connecting to power and network to allow remote connection. Telephony smart hands and parts replacement under instruction. On-site support will carry all the necessary tools to perform the activities mentioned in this SOW. Languages The Service engineer must be able to converse and communicate in English language fluently." | |||||
