Revenues exceed $2 billion with over 5000 worldwide employees. The company is now looking to recruit a new European IT manager. This is a newly created position and is part of the major transformation programme within the IT department. B/E Aerospace is increasing IT resources to better serve the business as it is seen as critical to the company’s success. Reporting to the Director Global Support Services, this individual will be a hands-on Manager of the field technical support team that supports all company locations within Europe. The individual will be responsible for close interactions with site business partners and leadership to fully understand and align IT support with business goals. This role serves a dual purpose for B/E Aerospace. First and foremost, the successful candidate will be required to manage and lead specific support aspects of the sites including, but not limited to, desktop support, IT support, local aspects of infrastructure and physical asset management, but equally important is effective team management and leadership capabilities . B/E Aerospace is seeking to recruit a candidate with, not only, solid technical and ‘hands-on’ knowledge, but someone who has strong interpersonal and influencing skills, someone who can communicate and build relationships with all employees across numerous sites, and someone who has the ability to put in place the infrastructure to deliver and meet customer needs. The successful candidate will also need to be adaptable, someone who can prioritize work and perform ad-hoc, special, projects for each specific site as needed. Therefore, this manager needs to be aware of, and work within, the cultural nuances which will naturally exist across each European location. You will have more than 5 years’ managerial experience of a similar role in a large, growing and dynamic manufacturing or supply chain organisation. Your rounded practical experience will be complemented by an academic degree in a relevant discipline. It is essential to have experience of working with manufacturing ERP systems. Given that this role involves managing all of BE Aerospace’s European IT infrastructure, which is currently twelve sites, the successful candidate will be expected to travel extensively, and frequently, to meet the end users needs. With this is mind, experience of managing a multi-site team across numerous countries would be advantageous.
