Primary Skills .Net Other Agile Documentation Drupal Lamp Management PHP SVN Testing We are looking for an expert senior level PHP coder to work on high traffic, high profile sites for a major media company. We want someone who dreams about code and is a master of their craft. This is mostly an application layer position but, often, you will be called upon to work on various browser and front-end related issues. You should be able to design, develop, test, maintain and optimize secure and scalable web applications. You should also be experienced with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build processes, and code releases. Requirements * Expert in PHP OOP and procedural coding styles * Considerable real-world experience working within a LAMP development environment * Able to articulate complex development concepts in a way that can be understood by technical and non-technical staff * Experienced in version control such as SVN * Knowledge of PHP templating engines, such as Smarty * Familiarity with Drupal * Good JS skills with an emphasis on jQuery * Agile development process knowledge and / or experience a plus * Unit testing such as PHPUnit a plus * Continuous integration knowledge using Jenkins or similar a major plus Responsibilities * Architects, builds, and tests new features on a custom, large-scale Web / Mobile publishing platform * Delivers code that can be easily implemented, understood and maintained by other team members * Follows security best-practices and stays current with industry trends * Creates detailed technical specifications and technical documentation * Leads code reviews and helps define best practices * Partners with release team to improve code deployment process * Work closely with Dev Lead, UX, Visual Design, and Project Management teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables * Evaluates emerging technological solutions * Defines and advises technical development requirements; working closely with architects and service providers as necessary"
