Online Education Specialist in New Haven, CT Apply here: http://bit.ly/1917oBR Position Focus: As part of its mission, the Office of Digital Media & Dissemination partners with colleagues from Yale’s graduate and professional schools, as well as Yale College, to identify online education opportunities. These opportunities range from free, open distribution of course materials to the global public to distance education, credit-bearing programs that require formal admission. Reporting to the Director and working collaboratively with campus partners, the Online Education Specialist helps build and ensure the successful delivery and execution of online education; leads efforts to support faculty teaching in the program, with emphasis on instructional design, learning management systems and their uses, and vendor-specific tools, serves as a thought leader for online learning, providing expert advice to faculty on course design and development and identifies and recommends best methods for “translating” existing educational content, plans, and materials to the online environment. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of related work experience. Required Skills & Abilities: Must be familiar with the online learning management environment. Must be familiar with various methods for disseminating media and educational content (YouTube,iTunes U) Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of people to achieve common goals. Able to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated flexibility and agility in the field. Reacts to new situations appropriately and adapts readily to changing work demands. Able to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism. Demonstrated ability to show initiative. Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred Education, Experience & Skills: Direct experience with one or more online learning platforms.
