Group: IT Recruiters Subject: Senior Programmer(Cobol) - Full Time Rukman R posted a job: Senior Programmer(Cobol) - Full Time "Senior Programmer Tallmadge, OH Fulltime JOB DESCRIPTION: Consults with the I.T. team on program intent, functions and features, internal and external controls, and hardware and operating system and interfacing requirements to convert program specifications into fully functional and fully documented programs. Implements new programs, does testing and analysis to find and correct errors and revise and update old and new programs. Participates in the development and maintenance of technical documentation. Writes instructions, provides I.T. tech support and training to end users. QUALIFICATIONS: • Working knowledge of PCs and common PC tools and applications. • Skilled in both batch and interactive programming techniques. • Must be fluent in COBOL, JCL, and other programming languages. • Understands project life cycle practices. • Experience with networking, shell scripting, Oracle, PL/SQL, and Micro Focus COBOL. • Experience with payment card applications or EDI is a plus. • Experience with UNIX or Linux operating system. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED: • Associate or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or MIS from a four-year college or university. • Four to Six years of I.T. and 3-4 years of interactive programming experience. • Working knowledge of HP3000, MPEiX, IMAGE, Omnidex, VIEW, and HP-UX a plus."
