Discipline • Civil. Eng Purpose To coordinate and supervise the construction phase of the assigned projects as per company specification, approved scope of work, ensuring full compliance with HSE and Quality requirements Background Construction Engineer reports to the Senior Project Engineer Construction Engineer is the focal point for the assigned projects execution. The position is responsible to ensure optimum adherence to company procedures, technical/execution related activities, engineering standards and HSE policy. He ensures the consultants/ Contractors execute the project in accordance with the scope of work and the facilities delivered to end users are safe, reliable, operable and maintainable. Main Accountabilities • To supervise all the construction activities in the field to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with contract requirement and specification. • To review the HSE and QA/QC plans prepared by the contractors for the projects and to supervise the implementation of these plans on site. • To follow up and confirm the contractor adherence to company HSE policies and to approve strategies on various aspects of projects • To coordinate the projects site activities with the plant and to direct the contractor to comply with the operation/safety requirements • To coordinate and supervise site survey and site visits during tendering and execution • To coordinate/take part in the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the project, prepare, handover procedures/documents to end user. • To coordinate meeting between contractors and end users such as safety induction/permit to work procedures, Tie – Ins/ shut down plan, etc.. • To comment on construction documentation. Method statements and drawings. Ensure distribution of this documentation to all concerned site parties and resolve conflicting comments. • To review contractors pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and plans • To coordinate and monitor the progress of work performed by EPC contractors at Site. • Identify any bottlenecks and recommend corrective action to ensure smooth and timely completion of each project."
