Subject: Operations Manager-LEAN MF, SIX SIGMA, Cincinnati, OH 45201 Dennis "Jeff" Thompson posted a job: Operations Manager-LEAN MF, SIX SIGMA, Cincinnati, OH 45201 "The Operations Manager will coordinate and strategically lead performance improvement within the company reporting to the Group Manufacturing Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible to drive change within the organization to improve Safety, Cost, Quality, Delivery, Morale, and Environment within the production departments by setting appropriate metrics and expectations while holding people accountable for results. Responsible for the design and management of performance improvement initiatives and the training and coaching of plant personnel in the implementation of those initiatives including: * Establish meaningful metrics to monitor performance and identify the nature and cause of problems and opportunities through effective problem solving methodology. * Lead root cause problem solving process, once the issue/opportunity has been identified, ascertain the best solution/improvement. * Diagnose and evaluate performance (Safety, Cost, Quality, Delivery, Morale, and Environment) challenges stemming from demand management and forecasting, inventory management, capacity and production planning, and production process design and execution. * Work with supervisors to design common work standards, quality control charts and systems, and other elements of superior manufacturing practice to aid plant improvement and best practices sharing. * Create alternative methods of production control and scheduling that use best practice techniques and better connect the plant and its suppliers with customer and seasonal demand patterns. * Train and coach plant personnel in these and other capabilities. Direct and oversee the rollout of these activities. * Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus * Five years functional process improvement experience in a manufacturing plant environment preferably in the chemical industry. * 5 + years experience implementing change using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods and practices preferred. * Proficient at using problem solving tools, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive changes in culture and to lead teams to higher levels of success. * Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with continually changing priorities. * Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills Our Client is a leading producer of polymers and performance materials that serve niche industrial end-market applications including the food and beverage, automotive, textiles and paper, personal care and household products, coatings and graphic arts, aerospace, and defense industries.
