Christy Covington posted a job: Smart Grid DMS Manager TRAVEL REQUIRED multiple locations throughout the US (Email resume to christy.covington@accenture.com) "Utilities: Transmission and Distribution Consultants are responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance. UIN (Utility Intelligent Networks) is a new area not just for Accenture but also for the industry in general. We are seeing explosive growth in this area both in the domestic market as well as in the international market primarily in Europe and China. The UIN area is marked with front-ended projects which focus on developing roadmaps and business cases. The next stage of the work is expected to lead us to several large T&D System Integration projects. We need senior people who can start projects by themselves and (1) mentor more junior people (2) develop a large group of people who can do this type of work and (3) position us for the larger SI work. Key responsibilities may include: Strategic Planning Business Case Development Shaping and leading programs that translate process application and/or integration shortfalls into transformation programs/projects Articulating application and integration strategy and architecture point of view and thought leadership for business solutions Envisioning new and innovative approaches and predicting probable business outcomes Establishing total cost of ownership metrics for actual impacts of application implementation Influencing client direction based on application design and architecture Defining solution architecture Shaping and leading large-scale application design and architecture activities Establishing acceptance of designs with client executives Translating and conveying impact of process and system changes to bottom line Shaping and leading large scale application build, test, and deploy activities Assessing and managing risk and issues throughout all aspects of the application implementation Extensive travel to clients' locations Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of Electric & Gas Utility Transmission and Distribution experience 2+ years experience with distribution management systems, outage management systems and/or energy management systems 2+ years of systems integration experience with ABB, Ariba, GE or other industry related distribution management system Bachelors degree Preferred Skills Previous experience with a large professional service organization Knowledge of Industry best practices in Smart Grid implementation Knowledge of Technology changes and their impacts to the achieving Smart Grid objectives Knowledge of cost and benefits of different technological and system options Understanding of utility regulatory environment (Federal and state).
