Position Summary: On an ongoing basis, the Data Analyst (Data Associate) will be part of a highly motivated, first-rate investment team helping to understand and deliver the data necessary to drive their research -- working hand in hand with them as they go through the process of understanding markets and creating systematized investment logic. Data Analysts will have personal responsibility for finding, creating, and delivering high quality proprietary data to those investment teams in order to help the teams solve a number of problems related to client investments. The Data Analyst is a key team member, providing the necessary information to assist in key decision-making. Ample career advancement opportunity. Responsibilities would include: • Developing proprietary data from a number of existing data sources, including internal databases, existing Excel data sheets, online data tools, etc • Finding, investigating, and delivering financial and economic data related to the markets • Designing and constructing derived data specific to the investment models our research teams are developing • Executing on data analysis projects related the process of understanding markets and systematizing investment logic • Analyzing data sources for potential errors and inconsistencies Position Requirements: • Degree in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, MIS, Mathematics, Finance, or Economics, demonstrating a strong academic record and learning agility • Comfortable with large sets of data and its different applications • Intellectual curiosity and an aptitude for problem solving • Knowledge in MS Excel, SQL and general database skills, scripting skills and Matlab is a plus • An interest in finance or related fields, although actual experience is not required • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship • Must be willing to relocate To Apply: • Please send resume to talent@elmtalent.com and put only "Data Analyst" in the subject line • Please include your GPA in your resume"
