PRIMARY FUNCTION: Direct all Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Inventory Accounting and Control, and Factory Period Accounting functions and activities, accounting for all manufacturing costs and preparation of all financial reporting of costs and inventory ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plans, directs, and manages the activities of subordinate staff members engaged in reporting, analyzing, and accounting for production costs, inventories, labor, material, overhead, vendor invoices, payroll, and other costs. 2. Manages/maintains the perpetual books of accounts including monthly and annual closings, approval of Journal Entries affecting factory accounts and other related accounts. Prepares, analyzes, and reports on financial condition and the results of operations as they relate to factory activities. 3. Coordinates the communication and transfer of operating data from plant to Corporate Financial Groups. 4. Functions as financial liaison to the manufacturing group Plant Manager. Provides financial consulting services regarding the preparation of manufacturing operating budgets, forecasts and estimates, analysis of operating results, the investigation and reporting of deviations from expected results, and interpretation of financial data. 5. Assesses inventory problems/situations and provides direction on appropriate course of action. Prepares various inventory analysis for management review. 6. Monitors and evaluates the performance of staff members supervised; gives on-going feedback and initiates and implements plans to train, develop, encourage and assist employees to achieve goals. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are clearly defined and understood. Deals with unsatisfactory work performance promptly and fairly, in accordance with applicable policies. 7. Works with Manufacturing Managers and other department heads on special projects and all cost estimates includes approving all Capital Expense requests. Skills: QUALIFICATIONS: Education: 4 year degree with a major in Accounting or Finance required. Experience: 7-10 years related Plant/Cost accounting experience. Jobcsope experience a plus. Job costing experience preferred. Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
