Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into topal systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The primary responsibility will be to execute engineering activities across the GPS Integrated Project Teams (Space, Control, User Equipment). Candidate will need to coordinate requirements definition, implementation, verification and oversight of the related elements of the system. The candidate will also coordinate activities with contractors and staff of the customer. System Engineering will be performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The candidate will conduct end-to-end system-level engineering analysis of key hardware and software functionality, allowing senior leadership to track and trend GPS programs’ progress and compliance against key technical requirements. Will be responsible for supporting the development of requirements, interfaces and planning for acquisitions of system architectures. Specific Duties Include: Systems Engineering of the technical basis for key system and segment requirements and identify early risk reduction opportunities for the program. Perform subject matter expert duties, work with test & verification and requirements and interface teams to analyze and document analysis data in support of future system-level activities. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Assist the project manager/lead with the development of the master schedule, status meetings, briefings and project execution. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience • Experience defining system requirements. • Ability to develop a highly effective working relationship with the customer • Ability to identify issues/risk/challenges and recommend solutions and options Desired Skills: • DoD GPS experience • Industry experience in the development of GPS hardware, software, or algorithms • Understanding of position signal integrity concepts as applied to GPS and navigation augmentation • Understanding of navigation implementation as pertains to GPS space, ground and user segments • Knowledge of Systems Oriented Architecture (SOA)"
