Group: IT Recruiters Subject: SYSTEM ENGINEER DATA HANDLING ARCHITECT SOUTHERN GERMANY Nigel Cripps crippsn@gmail.com posted a job: SYSTEM ENGINEER DATA HANDLING ARCHITECT SOUTHERN GERMANY "PK031 Job description: • Establish of functional and design requirements based on system needs • Supervise onboard functionalities with respect to command, control, and housekeeping, formatting, encoding, compression, processing, and data transfer • Trade-off data handling architectures and design implementations, taking into account possible re-use of available hardware and software • Ensure and monitor compliance between data protocol and interface specifications on subcontractor and customer level • Establish engineering budgets for TM/TC and ICDs demonstrating that the DHS provides the required level of standards and data management • Define and ensure the verification approach for the DHS equipment, and for the overall DHS at subsystem including required H/W – S/W compatibility tests in an operationally representative environment and to generate the respective documentation • Tailoring and application of PUS Service Libraries. Candidate profile: • Electronics Engineer (equivalent to Master of Communications Engineering) • Design & engineering experience (more than 6 years) in a majority of the fields described within “your tasks” • Good knowledge on design methodologies for space applications (design documentation, design analysis, etc.) and tools (e.g. PSpice, MathCad, Matlab, etc.) • Expertise on CCSDS communication standard • Expertise on MIL1553, Spacewire and BDM serial interfaces • Senior candidates having long experience in technical management of electronic equipments and systems in space programs, avionics for defense and aeronautics will be welcome • Candidates must be rigorous, systematic and able to work with other engineers in project teams and under pressure (tight schedules, fixed date deliveries, etc.) • Ability to work simultaneously in different projects • Ability to communicate with engineers, project managers and customer representatives • Availability to travel • Applicants must be fluent in English.
