Subject: Senior Accountant Houston, TX $70-85k base salary Joe Knose posted a job: Senior Accountant Houston, TX $70-85k base salary "Description: Dynamic, strong growth global organization has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant at a Business Unit headquarters in the Houston area. This is for a global Oil & Gas/Energy company. The Senior Accountant reports to the Group Controller. This position is part of the Strategic Division Accounting Leadership Team. You will work on the group's (division's) accounting functions, the financial reporting process, work with the budget process, and ad hoc analysis reporting. You will assist with the monthly close process, journal entry processing, audit and taxation compliance support. You need strong consolidation experience, general ledger experience, analysis experience. Any foreign currency experience would be a plus. Responsibilities will include providing management with the strategic tools & reports to drive business results; drive excess expense and capital out of the business; manage the production of daily internal management reports, cost management strategies, division accounting functions, assist with the Acquisition integration, financial and variance analysis; internal financial reporting, and work with outside auditors. You will assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual internal reports & forecasts. Implementation of Cost Controls and Cost Reductions initiatives. Requirements: BS Degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA, and/or a CPA are a plus. You should have 4-8 years of BIG 4, Public Accounting or relevant industry accounting & reporting experience. Any large company experience ( Fortune 500) is a plus. Any JD Edwards or SAP experience is a plus. You should have strong general ledger experience, consolidations experience, A/P, financial reporting, forecasting, budget development and implementation experience.
