"We have an immediate opportunity for a Purchasing Coordinator in our Canton, SD facility for Adams Thermal Systems. As a Purchasing Coordinator this position is responsible for managing company purchases for our manufacturing facility. Purchase materials, supplies, equipment and contracted services for all departments; receives and processes purchase requisitions for proper authorization, order clarity and compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Investigates sources of supplies and works with requesting department to prepare and review specifications and resolve issues. Manages and maintains all records for ATS purchasing card program; prepares, and reconciles monthly statements. Expedites and follows up on problem orders; reconciles order changes and billing corrections; corresponds with vendors regarding changes, adjustments, returns and assesses vendor reliability and competitiveness. Maintains up-to-date files and records. This position requires a detail oriented individual with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities Manage overall workload to assure effective procurement of contract items; review and issue requisitions; and process appropriate paperwork for award. Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices to purchasing agents. Reviews purchase order requisitions and contracts for conformance to company policy. Monitor performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments. Research new and existing supply contracts to stay competitive. Support main commodities and specific vendors as appropriate. Recognize difficult situations and work to manage potential conflict, building consensus among team members while ensuring best value. Maintain department electronic and paper file/documentation system. Prepare instructions regarding purchasing policies and procedures and directs purchasing programs accordingly. Establish and maintain good working relationship with customers and vendors, while conducting self in the appropriate manner to project a professional image for the company. Clerical and data entry work required. Other duties/projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Requirements; Education, Experience and/or Skills: Three (3) years of progressively responsible work involving purchasing, general office work and record keeping. An Associate degree in business or related field preferred and/or related purchasing certifications. Analytical thinker with above average problem solving and follow-through skills required. Position requires excellent negotiation and communication skills. Must be proficient using Excel and MS Office. Preferred: Previous experience supporting a manufacturing/industrial environment.
