Email: mhernandez@protingent.com "Our medical device client in beautiful Irvine, California is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their Research and Development team. Responsibilities: The Software Engineer will be responsible for the design and enhancement of software modules for medical respiratory devices utilizing embedded microcontrollers. This individual will also be developing computer-based applications for associated support tools. Drive design, implementation, and successful end user integration of software for microcontroller-based medical products. Define and implement high performance software by leveraging a strong understanding of embedded hardware design. Define the system from the top down by developing software that implements features of the system after the system is defined. Software documentation and testing, consistent with best medical device practices, such as the FDA guidance and ISO13485. Required Qualifications: Working knowledge of microcontrollers, ARM and DSP architectures Knowledge of C programming in a Windows environment Software development experience working with embedded RTOS Knowledge of developing applications and control functions on a real-time operating system wireless digital embedded device Experience with assembly level and C language development including the tools used to edit, compile/assemble and debug code in an embedded environment (Assembly, C, C++) Experience in software development – developing, testing and documenting code for microcontroller based environments Experience with various communication and networking protocols BS Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree with 2+ years software development experience"
