Overview: The successful candidate will work with our team of wireless network professionals to design and deploy wireless networks and will be based in our Houston location. The wireless network engineer will work with a multidiscipline team that consists of engineers from within our organization and will wirelessly interface our control systems platform and field devices. The wireless networks will interconnect field transmitters, life safety detectors, equipment health monitors, physical security sensors, and operator mobility terminals. The wireless networks engineer with work with customers and end users, project operations, product R&D, marketing, sales, estimating, and third party installers. The wireless network engineer ensure that the selected application methods, techniques and tools are fit for purpose and work with project management to ensure that the overall project objectives are met. Position Responsibilities: Establish professional relationships and communications with internal wireless teams, external customers and the Honeywell management team. Take responsibility for the overall delivery of the technical solution to ensure that project requirements are met and that standard builds are utilized and maintained or developed for purpose. Development of test criteria and procedures for system integration, third party testing, and factory acceptance testing activities. Be actively involved in each project kick-off to ensure the overall requirements are fully understood and then directly support each project team during design and implementation. Implement projects in a timely manner and support usage of the appropriate skill mix of internal, remote engineering, and contract staff. Ability to travel up to 25% international required. Technologies: Wireless WiFi (IEEE 802.11a/b/g) and ISA100.11a (IEEE 802.15.4) RF topologies Wireless mesh and non-mesh field transmitters Wireless location tracking systems Wired Network Systems (WAN, LAN, WLAN) Basic Qualifications: B.S. Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Cisco CCNP Wireless certification or ability to complete during first year employment. Additional Requirements: Experience in the industrial facilities, petrochemical industry preferred. 5 years engineering experience with at least 3 years experience with wireless devices and engineering tools. Cisco CCNP, CCDA, VLAN, HSRP, & TCP/IP Routing and Switching Network Design a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus.
